On March 29, 2008 between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM cities all over the globe will work with residents and businesses to "turn off the lights" for one hour. Sydney, Australia did it on March 31, 2007 and saved enough energy to remove the equivalent of 48,000 cars off the road! The Toronto Event sponsored by the World Wildlife Federation http://www.wwf.ca/EarthHour/ is attempting to raise awareness of global climate change. There are many events happening in and around Toronto, and in many communities throughout Ontario. In fact you can visit the Town of Halton Hills website to see what our community is doing to participate in this global event. http://www.haltonhills.ca/townhall/earth-hour.php As you may have noticed I have an NAGAB logo on the back of my business card, and prefer to use email rather than paper resources. NAGAB is the National Association of Green Agents and Brokers. I am a member, and am currently working toward full accreditation. The association works to educate the buyer, the seller, and the builder in regards to Home Energy Conservation, Whole Home Environmental Health, and Sustainable Renovation and Construction practices. Please, do your part on March 29, 2008 and turn off your lights for one hour, and continue to save energy throughout the year. Sincerely, Cuddles |
